ECMWF's Integrated Forecast System (IFS) is widely regarded as the most accurate global weather model in the world. It is run by an independent intergovernmental organisation supported by 35 European states.
The IFS is a global model, meaning it forecasts the entire planet at once. Its strength is medium-range forecasting — days 3 to 10 — where its physics and data assimilation consistently outperform rivals. On Climify you will often see it near the top of the per-city accuracy leaderboard.
